'Since the Alcuin Society was founded in 1965 by Geoff Spencer and six other Vancouver bibliophiles, it has never asked its members directly for donations. But now we are. The Alcuin Society is setting up an endowment fund with the Vancouver Foundation, Canada's largest community foundation. An initial $10,000 is needed to start our endowment. If you would like to support our efforts to ensure that the Alcuin Society, in perpetuity, continues it numerous activities, please make a donation, either by sending a cheque to our address below or by clicking on the Canadahelps.org icon. Either way you will receive a tax receipt for your donation.'

Please note some generous members already send us money, often along with their membership. We encourage those members to continue to help us in our operating costs. This appeal is for funds that will be endowed and produce a guaranteed, annual, revenue stream.
