Membership

The Alcuin Society is a society primarily for book collectors and those who have an interest in fine printing. As such, it promotes an interest in these areas for everyone by offering free online and in-person lectures on a wide variety of topics relating to books, reading and the book arts. It also maintains a free, up-to-date website that is a place to visit for Society and book news and current event announcements.

For those individuals who might want a more in-depth access to the world of books, our Society offers a subscription to Amphora, our three-per-year colour illustrated journal. It features well written articles on a wide variety of topics including book collecting, libraries, bookselling, and all aspects of the book arts. In addition, members receive the informative, colour-illustrated annual catalogue of winners of the Alcuin Awards, the Canadian Book Design Competition. An individual subscription of $50.00 is a real bargain, considering it is well below the costs involved in producing and mailing these four publications.
